VFVM supports many of the charitable works of The Vietnamese Franciscan Province. There is a Vietnamese saying about charity to the needy: “Một miếng khi đói bằng một gói khi no.” “One mouthful when hungry equals a bowl when full”. We believe Jesus is very clear in his teaching:

'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' (Matthew  25:40)

Established in 1993 by two members of the Third Franciscan Order (the late Mr. Phung and father of Mr. Suu, Rev. Tuan, OFM), Mái Ấm Phan Sinh (The Franciscan Shelter), located in Tan Binh District provides a home to those born with disabilities and to seniors who are homeless. Re-assigned to the Franciscan Province in 2008, the shelter was renovated and upgraded in October 2016 with the support of several Vietnamese and foreign charity organizations. This three-story facility is equipped with all the necessary amenities, including elevators. It is operated by a staff of two Franciscans—Brother Dominic Nguyễn Văn Yên, OFM and Brother Phanxicô X. Nguyen Phu Yen, OFM—and three employees, in addition to volunteers. Please support this missionary work.
